The team at Anderson Munro & Wyllie have diverse backgrounds and expertise, but they all have something important in common – their knowledge and understanding of auditing issues. Together they bring a wealth of extensive experience – both in Australia and internationally – across a wide range of audit focus areas.

  • Billy-Joe Thomas
    Billy-Joe Thomas
    Director, registered auditor number 302989

    Billy-Joe has a Bachelor of Business degree, is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a Registered Company Auditor.

    Billy-Joe began in public practice in 1999, starting out with Ernst and Young in Darwin.  Some of the bigger clients he worked on include Henry Walker Eltin, Kardu Numida Inc and the Territory Insurance Office, on behalf of the NT Auditor General.

    After moving to Perth and joining Anderson Munro & Wyllie in 2003, his audit focus has been on companies, co-operatives companies, local government bodies and superannuation funds.

     

  • Martin Shone
    Martin Shone
    Principal, registered auditor number 453041

    Martin is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Registered Company Auditor.

    Martin started auditing in Public Practice in 1998 and has worked mainly for mid-tier firms since, initially in the UK and then since 2006 in Perth. During this time he gained extensive experience in the audit of a variety of enterprises from superannuation funds, small businesses and trust accounts to large proprietary, publicly listed companies, not-for-profit entities, schools and Unions.

     

  • Seraaj Pillai
    Seraaj Pillai
    Senior Manager

    Seraaj has a Bachelor of Commerce and has worked in public practice since 2001, including both audit and tax compliance.

    Seraaj started out with KPMG in Zimbabwe but has also worked at Ascent Business Directions in New Zealand and Burges McFarlane and Young in Subiaco. Prior to joining public practice he worked as a Financial Controller for a listed manufacturing and retailing entity.

    Seraaj’s audit experience includes listed and unlisted companies in the mining, manufacturing, retail, hospitality and service industries, not-for-profit entities and superannuation funds.

     

  • Michael St John
    Michael St John
    Manager

    Michael has a Bachelor of Business degree, is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and is currently in the process of registering as a Registered Company Auditor.

    Michael began auditing in 2006, after a number of years working in tax and business services. During this time he gained considerable knowledge and experience in the audit of local government bodies from large metropolitan city councils to regional shire councils and community service (not-for-profit) organisations, superannuation funds, and all types of trust account audits. Michael has experience in auditing both public and Pty Ltd companies from a wide range of industries including multi-entity groups and those with foreign ownership, and providing other assurance services including due diligence reviews.

    After joining Anderson Munro & Wyllie in 2010, his audit focus has been on local government bodies, co-operatives companies, financial services license companies, not-for-profit entities, schools and trust account audits.

  • Hong Chhay Taing
    Hong Chhay Taing
    Manager

    Chhay has a Master’s Degree in Accounting and Taxation and a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is a provisional member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

    Chhay has over 5 years’ experience with KPMG in Cambodia and then with KPMG Malaysia for a further year. During this time he gained extensive experience in the audit of various industries such as banking, micro-finance, companies (manufacturing, hotel and construction), funding agencies projects (ADB, WorldBank, UNDP, UNFPA and Global Fund), and non-governmental organisations.

    After moving to Perth and joining Anderson Munro & Wyllie in 2010, his audit focus has been on small to medium companies, co-operatives, schools, associations, travel companies, trust accounts (real estate, settlement agents, solicitors & motor vehicle trust account), not-for-profit entities and self-managed superannuation funds.

  • Amit Gadani
    Amit Gadani
    Assistant Manager

    Amit is an associate member of Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA) and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Taxation.

    Amit started auditing in Public Practice in 2005 and has worked mainly for mid-tier firms since, initially in Kenya and then since 2007 in Perth before joining Anderson Munro & Wyllie in 2012. During this time he has gained extensive experience in the audits of various industries such as the construction, manufacturing, trading, not-for-profit entities, small to medium companies, clubs and Associations, Co-operatives, Schools, Local Governments, Trust accounts and Self-Managed superannuation funds.

  • Andrew Pieira
    Andrew Pereira
    Senior

    Andrew has a Bachelor of Commerce, a masters in Professional Accounting and has almost completed the CPA program.

    Andrew started auditing in Public Practice with Anderson Munro & Wyllie in 2013 and has worked in audit since. During this time he gained extensive experience in the audit of a variety of enterprises from trust accounts and superannuation funds to large proprietary companies, Co-operative companies, not-for-profit entities, schools, Unions and Local government bodies.

     

     

  • Jer Win Pui
    Jer Win Pui
    Senior

    Jer Win has a Bachelor of Commerce and Economics degree and is a member of Certified Practising Accountants Australia.

    Jer Win started auditing in Public Practice in 2012 and has gained experience in the audits of self-managed superannuation funds, trust accounts, schools, not-for-profit organisations, companies and financial service licensees. In 2016, he started specialising in the audits of self-managed superannuation funds and had audited over 700 funds of various sizes and levels of complexity each year for the last two years.
